Some travel memories remain vivid long after the suitcase has been unpacked. This camel day during my stay at Voyage Torba in Bodrum, Turkey, is certainly one of them.
Voyage Torba is set beside the Aegean coast in the peaceful Torba area of Bodrum. Surrounded by greenery and the warm colours of the Turkish landscape, the resort combines a 300-metre sandy beach with swimming pools, an aquapark, restaurants, bars, sports facilities and a spa. It offers plenty of opportunities to relax, explore and enjoy the sunshine, whether travelling as a couple or with family.
What stayed with me most, however, were the unexpected moments beyond the usual rhythm of a resort holiday. Seeing the camels resting beside the beachโand having the opportunity to experience a camel rideโturned an ordinary sunny day into a memory I would carry home with me.
There was something unforgettable about the contrast: the blue Aegean sky, the green hills surrounding Torba, the sandy landscape and these calm, remarkable animals. It was one of those travel moments that feels completely different from everyday life and reminds you why discovering new places can be so meaningful.
