My Last Day in Torba: Parasailing Above the Aegean

Looking back at the final day of my holiday in Torba, I remember a mixture of emotions: the sadness of knowing it was almost time to leave, gratitude for everything I had experienced and excitement about one last adventure still waiting for me.

The day began quietly at Voyage Torba. Wearing my soft pink jacket, I took one final walk through the resort and followed the familiar pathways toward the water. Places that had felt new at the beginning of the holiday had already become wonderfully familiar.

One Final Walk Through Voyage Torba

The resort was peaceful, with palm trees, green gardens, wooden terraces and shaded areas leading toward the beach. From higher points along the pathways, I could see across the rooftops and trees toward the calm blue water of Torba Bay.

Torba is situated northeast of Bodrum on Turkey’s Aegean coast. The sheltered bay is surrounded by hills, beaches and pine-covered landscapes, creating a gentler and quieter atmosphere than the livelier centre of Bodrum.

I stopped several times to take photographs and absorb the views. These were not grand sightseeing moments, but the smaller details that become meaningful on the final day of a journey: a pathway you have walked before, the sound of the sea beyond the trees and one last photograph beside the water.

One Last Adventure on the Water

The peaceful morning was followed by something much more adventurous. A motorboat was waiting near the coast for a parasailing experience above the Aegean Sea.

Parasailing begins aboard a specially equipped boat. The colourful parachute is opened behind the vessel and gradually fills with air as the boat moves forward. Once everything is prepared, the towline allows the passenger to rise smoothly away from the boat and above the water.

Watching the crew prepare the equipment made the anticipation feel very real. The brightly coloured canopy unfolded behind the boat, contrasting beautifully with the clear blue sky. There was nervous excitement, but also the feeling that this was exactly how the holiday should end—with one final experience I would always remember.

High Above the Aegean Sea

As the parasail climbed, the boat gradually became smaller beneath me. The water stretched outward in every direction while the hills, beaches and white buildings along the Torba coastline formed a distant panorama.

From above, the landscape felt completely different. The details of the resort disappeared into the coastline, and the Aegean became an enormous field of blue. For a few unforgettable moments, everything felt peaceful despite the height—the boat below, the wind around me and the coastline extending toward the horizon.

It was exciting, slightly frightening and wonderfully freeing at the same time. The photographs capture the colourful parachute against the sky, but the feeling of floating so high above the sea is something an image can only partly preserve.

Saying Goodbye to Torba

After returning to the boat and reaching the shore, I took another moment beside the water. The holiday had included relaxing afternoons, memorable dinners, camel rides, boat trips and now a final adventure above the Aegean.

Leaving a beautiful destination is always bittersweet. You pack your belongings and return home, but part of the journey stays with you through its photographs, stories and small unforgettable moments.

This was my last day in Torba—a final walk through the resort, one last view across the bay and an adventure high above the sea. It was the perfect way to say goodbye to Turkey, at least until another journey brings me back.
